birthday - shmirthday
21 04 2007So folks, how ya’all doin? Today’s my birthday, happy ummmm well, neva mine… Ya know, I have come to a slight conclusion that in the beginning when parents had a party for your birthday and planned games, made goodie bags, tailed the donkey, paid for pizza, say cheese with chuckee Chesse, it was truly to celebrate the passing of another year and a blessed one at that for our parents being able to simply get through the year and have a child that is not completely screwed up, or screwed!!! Ha!
These days, now that we’re older, I feel that its important to celebrate your la hanau so that you won’t feel that left hip wear out, or that high school track injury as much, or that fog horn that supposedly is supposed to be blowin’ any moment by now. Your celebration is to be with real friends. REAL FRIENDS!!!! REAL FAMILY, meaning people who are supposed to act, funtion, and operate like a real family. As you get older, this is how you should celebrate your birthday. You need to be able to enjoy getting a year older. You deserve it!
I enjoyed my birthday eves everyone. Mahalo to our boys of the band!!! We played at D and B’s off of WARD and they rocked our show. I was also taken out to a nice dinner where I was able to get slightly plastered with karaoke and hiccupping on the mic followed; and I was also given a beautiful key chain and a yellow top. Tonight I got to finally see Milo Shade (tiki’s group) perform at Ige’s. PRICELESS!!!!! I loved it, I miss the sounds girls, mean!
Most importantly, I don’t think its what you get for your birthday, its the thought that counts, and what YOU give… So, mahalo everyone who remembered and emailed me, texted me, called me to say happy birTday…
But I’d like to mahalo you all deeply and wish you an awesome day and I hope I’m there to help celebrate it with you!!!
ps, we need a cool slammin’ name for our boys, help us!

Mai: Happy Birthday again, you do deserve the very best.
Truly Mailani … YOU ARE PRICELESS … all the best to you and thank you for another year that you have filled my life with friendship, support, laughter, music, and comedy. I hope to spend many more birthdays with you …
Love you sis! HAPPY BIRTHDAY (just pretend its the 21st. still! ;))
Happy Belated B-day Mai!! I hope your b-day wish came true. Personally, I don’t like to make a big deal about my own b-day. I usually try to spend some time on that day to reflect on the past year. Remember the highlights, review the downtimes, learn from mistakes, & try to start a new year in my life with no regrets. As long as I’m with good friends & family, then that’s all the celebration I need.
As for the boys, how bout “Da Kru”
