So hello people … yes Mai, Jenn and I are still alive … mighty mighty busy but still alive …
So if you were off or started work late or got up early last Tuesday morning, you may have caught MighTy J on the KHON morning news at Makiki McDonald’s with Manolo Morales. We were doing our part to help out the Ronald McDonald House for World Children’s Day and we got to see the new McCafe that features specialty coffees and teas (must be the offshoot of Starbucks and Seattle’s Best ingenious coffee mania). It started off dark and early and we had a wee guest that accompanied us to the event. We had ha’e ha’e (Mai’s daughter) in tow and she behaved wonderfully and was fashion foward with her pink 3/4 length sweater and ugg style boots. What a cutie she is! It was a great day to meet Morgan of Communications Pacific and 2 women of Hawaii who are leading the way for future female business leaders - Veronica Kaneko, President of McDonald’s Restaurants of Hawaii and Melanie Okazaki, Marketing Manager, McDonald’s of Hawai’i. They were both wonderful to work with and a pleasure to meet and Ha’e also got a special treat from Ms. Kaneko … a fresh oven baked chocolate chip monster cookie! Hooray! Besides experiencing the new McCafe, we helped sell Honolulu Advertiser newspapers for $1 to help the cause and most people we’re willing to oblige except the people who never carry cash (like myself) and claimed the good ole … “sorry i only have my debit card!” I shoulda said …”check your ashtray you might find 5 dimes, 3 nickels, a quarter, and 10 pennies to donate to the cause” … but it was too early for my brain to think about it … great ideas always come after the fact … bleh! After McDonald’s Makiki we rushed over to the Nimitz location and helped out there too! December seems like its gonna be giving back to the community month for Mighty J. Giving back to the people who support us and our music! Thank you to all that visit our site often and that believe in what we’re trying to do with our music!
Besides our McDonalds adventure … our thanksgiving holiday went pretty well. I played in a golf tournament and didn’t come in last which is a win in my book since Rai, Denie and I are on the only team with all girls and we placed 9th out of 12 teams! Woo woo …
We all did our share of Black Friday shopping … Jenn is the winner with the most deals on the biggest shopping day of the year … lucky smucky!… Mai probably did her shopping too but I didn’t get her updates on what she scored. I scored a drawer and end table set from inspirations for a good deal and of course some Banana Republic threads (any reps looking to have people wear their threads - pick me!) Hey and for next year here’s a tip … bfads.net! It does wonders for planning your shopping attack! Lastly, all i gotta say is GO BOWS…I mean WARRIORS! We’re 11-0 after beating Boise State - a team that went undefeated last year and only lost 2 games since then, I hope we get a little more love than we’ve been receiving. We’re ranked 12th in the BCS poll as of today even though we’re still the only undeafeated team in the country. Nothing wrong with that … I know people criticize our strength of schedule but we can’t help it if no one wanted to play us this year with the numbers we put up last year and with Colt Brennan returning to the helm to lead us to hopefully a perfect season - hell we’re WAC Champions now…outright without having to share the damn title … gotta give us a little respect. I know we won’t get what we deserve but I’m still very proud of how well THE UH WARRIORS are doing as a team. Can this really be the year??? … ya damn straight it could be! I believe … yes I do … not gonna lie … I wasn’t a true believer in the beginning and i had my doubts and you can hate on me all you want about jumping on the bandwagon … but hey at least i admit it! I’m on it now! GO WARRIORS!!!!
