MTJ

Hi peeps…
Early this morning, Tiki had an interview with our friends at KAPA radio, promoting MTJ’s visit to the Big Island this weekend. To hear the interview click on the link: Tiki KAPA Podcast or visit kaparadio.com

Mai and Jenn will interview with Aloha Joe this morning around 10:30am in Waikiki at the Miramar Hotel. Unfortunately, the ladies will not be able to attend the 2008 Hawaii Music Awards ceremony to accept their award for “Best Island Contemporary Album,” due to their performance in Keahou, however, MTJ did shoot a video acceptance award that will be played at the ceremony. Thank you again to the HMA and Johnny Kai for allowing us to film a Video Acceptance Speech. We will post the acceptance video soon, so hang tight…
With that said.. MighTy J hits the Big Island again THIS Saturday, March 15th for the King Kamehameha III’s Birthday Celebration Concert held on the grounds of the Sheraton Keahou Bay Resort. So for all those that live on the Big Island, please head down to Keahou on Saturday!!! What a perfect opportunity to head to Kona side of the island..It will be worth the drive..the concert is FREE and there are complimentary shuttles that will transport you from Keahou Shopping Center from 4pm-10:30pm.

Kickin’ off Drug Free Week…

16 02 2008

Holomua Elementary

This past week, MighTy J kicked off Drug Free week at Holomua Elementary School on Oahu. Students K-6th grade attended the school rally, while students, teachers, counselors and their prinicpal rocked out to some MighTy J music. In addition, the ladies shared their beliefs on the importance of staying drug free and the unfortunate presence/influence of drugs in society today. They brought to the stage random volunteers to play music with them, as the children cheered on their teachers and principal Norman Pang. Overall, it was a blast for an important cause.  We hope to work with Holomua and other elementary schools again in the future.

MTJ Trivia Challenge - Round 1

18 10 2007
MTJ Trivia Challenge

Hey MTJ Homies…

If you haven’t had the chance to hit the Shoutbox yet…please stop by to chat, say hi to Mai, T and J…or whatever..don’t be shy…our regular Shoutbox visitors are kool kats!!! hahaha…

Last night during a chat session with g3mini, Kehau421 and Housey in the Shoutbox…we decided to play an impromptu round of MTJ Trivia Challenge.

I started off with Question #1: What are the lyrics of the first couple lines of the track “Before I Let Go?”  g3mini wrote back first..with “Stuck in the cycle once again..say you’re trying but we’re still just friends….” According to g3mini this is one of her favorite tracks.  :)

Next, was Question #2: What is MTJ’s drummer/music directors full name? Kehau421 jumped in with Kapono Na’ili’ili and won a MighTy J sticker!!!

Everyone had their buzzers ready…for Question #3: What is the name of the song that follows “Girls Night Out?” g3mini buzzed in with “My Love”…one of Housey’s favorite songs!!! g3mini won a MighTy J sticker for her answer.

The last question of the night..was an open-book question. I told them that they could find the answer on either the MighTyJmusic or MighTy J Myspace site.  Bonus question: What was the name of the restaurant that Mai, T and J took Rai to for dinner? ..Doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo…HAHAHA…Actually, only after a couple minutes passed, g3mini came back with the answer: Ruth Chris. Correcto!! It appears in Tiki’s post on 7/26/07 “Dis-n-Dat and Dinner.”
Poor Housey…got beat out by the girls…g3mini thanked her victory to her quick computer skillz.  Lucky her…she won an autographed poster of MighTy J, which we will mail to her along with the sticker that she won for Question #3.

NEXT MTJ Trivia Challenge is scheduled for Next Wednesday, OCTOBER 24th at 9pm HST or 12pm PST. Please join us in the shoutbox…See you there!!!

Hilo..Here we come!!!!

25 09 2007
Hilo Ho'olaule'a

It’s an exciting weekend for us…MighTy J will be in HILO for the KWXX Ho’olaule’a!! Please come see us at the ResortQuest-Kalakaua stage in downtown Hilo. We will be playing at 7:20pm-8:00pm, right after the Opihi Pickers. We are so excited to play in Hilo…and praying for the Rain gods to be nice.. :)
We will also be kicking off the “Official KWXX Afterparty” later Saturday night at Uncle Mikey’s from 11:00pm- 11:45pm. Come party with MighTy J!!!!

If you can’t make it to the Afterparty, we will be performing at Borders in Hilo on Sunday from 2:00-2:30pm. This is a rare performance, since it will be an acoustic version of MighTy J, with just Mailani, Tiki and JROQ. Please join us for a “meet and greet” and CD signing after the gig.

Although we aren’t able to stream live, we will be video taping “behind the scenes” footage of the performance and after party for MighTy J TV. So, for all the fans that couldn’t make it to Hilo, don’t worry..you can catch the action on a MighTy J episode. Yeah! :)
